Embroiderers’ Guild – Members’ Challenge and Members’ Project

The Embroiderers’ Guild welcomes stitchers from beginners to experienced, from simple hand work to machine and everything in between. Two very different exhibitions “Opposites Attract” and “Repair, Restore and Recycle” show a wide variety of interpretations of each theme.

Textile Stage

The Textile and Catwalk Stage offers FREE demos and talks from some of the UK’s favourite textile experts and on Friday lunchtime it hosts the final of the 2025 Student Fashion Design Competition: Wearable Art.

Elissa Handbury-Madin ¬– Textile Graduate Showcase

Elissa is an embroiderer who graduated from the Royal School of Needlework with a BA (hons) in Hand embroidery. Her creative practice is centred around social history and she has a love of collecting.

Textile Graduate Showcase - Elizabeth Connolly

Elizabeth Connolly, a 2024 graduate from the Royal School of Needlework, is a textile artist who specialises in hand embroidery. She works with natural and sustainable materials to produce unique textile pieces. Her graduate collection Warwickshire Tales explores the folklore of her home county.

 

Textile Graduate Showcase - Alice Aphra

Pushed by nostalgia and storytelling, ‘The Pub’ celebrates the rich history, quirky details, and tight-knit communities that make pubs such beloved institutions. The pieces playfully explore collage by incorporating handwritten elements from her grandfather’s pub journals and prints commonly found in traditional boozers.

 

Kingfly – David Morrish

Kingfly produces modern digital embroidered art for fashion and interiors, featuring vibrant colours and intricate details. David, a two-time winner of the Hand & Lock, Wilcom Digital Embroiderer of the Year Award, has had his work showcased in various publications, worn by celebrities, and featured on BBC 1’s “Make it at Market.” He is affiliated with the Crafts Council, the Embroiderers’ Guild, and is recognized as a QEST Scholar and Madeira Ambassador.

CarolAnn is an artist/educator specialising in hand embroidery based in Yorkshire. She also teaches Eco Printing and visible mending through the UK and especially community projects. Her own practice explores the importance of Slow Textiles and traditional skills, naturally dying her own fabrics and threads from her garden.

Jessica Grady

Jessica Grady is a mixed media embroidery artist, tutor and author, based in West Yorkshire. Her colourful and creative artwork uses recycled materials to create hand stitched wall art and sculptures. She teaches workshops across the UK and beyond.
